OK. OKAY.

Why am I suddenly starting to use "okay" instead of "OK?." "OK" takes less time to type. "OK" is universally accepted.

But "okay" just has that "i'm cooler than you" vibe. As in, "I'm so cool, that people take the extra time to type my entire name."

Ahhh shiiiit! HE TOLD YOU, MR. OK!

Is That Real Wood?

I just had our office manager order me a new 5-shelf bookshelf for my office. I'm psyched because it's looking more and more like an adult's law office. I only hope that it matches my present furniture. Then again, there weren't many variations of "faux cherry" in the Staples catalog.

He'Brew-It For Me

My ongoing post-bar exam celebration means a constant flow of alcohol. At first I was doing a lot of Bailey's and Jack & Cokes. But nothing says "please take away the pain that is this year's Oscars" like a 6-pack of a good microbrew. (FU, I'm a beer snob. Deal with it.) So a quick run to Food Emporium later, I returned with a sixer of He'Brew (The Chosen Beer). This is funny because I'm Catholic. 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Italian, 1/4 German, but essentially raised Italian. But I know a good beer when I taste one (or in this case, read a good review in a newspaper). Obviously, the Woman knows I'm Catholic, so she found my purchase especially odd. Here's conversational proof:

Woman: Did you buy a beer called He'Brew?!
Paralawyer: Yeah. It's good shit.
Woman: Did you buy it for the Oscars?
Paralayer: What the hell are you talking about?
Woman: Did you buy it because there are a lot of Jews in Hollywood?
Paralawyer: You've got to be kidding me. Besides, there aren't THAT many Jews in Hollywood.

As if on cue, the Oscars announcer then recited the following names of nominees for Achievement in Film Editing: Schoonmaker, Rubell, Hirsch and Miller.

I stand corrected. Please pass the He'Brew.
